TIMON has been selected by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) as a reference project in urban environment.
The INEA is the EU agency managing the implementation of the following EU programmes:
- · Connecting Europe Facility (CEF);
- Parts of Horizon 2020 – Smart, green and integrated transport + Secure, clean and efficient energy;
- · Legacy programmes: TEN-T and Marco Polo 2007-2013.
The brochure, entitled Making European cities greener - In pursuit of sustainable urban transport and published last month, features snapshots of projects managed by the INEA and which develop innovative solutions for urban transport. These projects range from those that pick up on a basic research idea and advance on its concept, to those that support a successful market launch of ready-to-use products and technologies.
TIMON is described in this brochure as a demonstration project with the ambitious goal of decreasing the number of road accidents by 15% - 20%, reducing road congestion by 12% - 20% and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 10% in the cities where the future open web-based platform for road users developed by the project will be available.
